Jacques Soghomonian is a third generation
Baha'i. His maternal grandfather and mother were Baha'is. Jacques
father became a Baha'i after being married a few years. As a member of
the 1959-1960 National Spiritual Assembly of France he voted to support
Charles Mason Remey as the Second Guardian of the Baha'i Faith.
He resigned from the Assembly in 1960 after Hand of the Cause, Abu'l-Qasim
Faizl, went to France to persuade them to follow the example of the Hands
and deny Mason's claim to the Guardianship.
Jacques faithfully served Charles Mason Remey as Second Guardian of the
Baha'i Faith until the very end of Mason's life. He then served
Donald Harvey as Third Guardian. Before Donald passed on Jacques
accepted Donald's request that he succeed Donald in this spiritual successorship.
Jacques accepted and, after the passing of Donald Harvey, became Fourth
Guardian of the Baha'i Faith. He was formally appointed Guardian
in the last will and testament of Donald Harvey.
